Yesterday was the second week of this year's season of Project Runway. Somehow I got really into it last year, set up a weekly night with another friend, and roped Hun into coming with me. This year, since the premier was on Hun's birthday, we watched the first and second episodes together. We set up another Thursday night routine visit with my friend, and all was going swimmingly.
I got off at 3:30 or so, but Hun had a guy thing he was doing until about 4, so I didn't come home for a bit. Went to the lab and started researching ovulation, as I recall. :) She called Hun at 5:30 and said dinner at her place was going to be at 6:30 or 7. We duly showed up at 7, knocked on the door.... and silence. The lights were off. We knocked again. Were confused. Called her. Went down the stairs to check and see if her lights were on. Called again. Waited and knocked again. This prompted her neighbor across the way to open his door and tell us that he didn't think anyone lived there. We find this funny since our friend has lived there for six months or so.
At this point we think she has either taken a hard nap, gone to the store to pick up something for dinner, or has died. We decide to look for her car, find it, and further decide we'll wait a while in her car to see if she gets up or needs us to call time of death. We wait fifteen minutes, chatting, and call her one more time. FINALLY, her lights come on.
She feels bad (and groggy from her nap), but we're hungry (and nice), so Hun washed the dishes while I started dinner. We watched the show and headed home somwhere around 10 since I had to open at work today. Fun evening, and she eventually got over the mistake.
(We found out later that the neighbor thought Hun looked "shady," which is hilarious.)
